Classroom BRIDGE
Classroom BRIDGE is a collaborative workspace for long-term project work where distributed teams work asynchronously. Designed around the construct of activity awareness, the software integrates an interactive timeline that shows work history along with calendar tools for future planning. The BRIDGE content tools allow team members to synchronously (at the same time) edit text documents, spreadsheets, structured drawings and other types of content. A version history of changes to that content is visible in the timeline and can be integrated with shared calendars containing deadlines, scheduled meetings, etc.
The Classroom BRIDGE workspace has been used for semester-long middle and high school science projects in Montgomery County, VA, a laboratory study of middle school students doing science projects, and collaborative homeworks in the IST 413 Usability Engineering course, as well as for writing research papers within our research group.
